Happy with my first delivery
Can't believe how yummy this kransky is - my hubby thought I was having bacon when he smelled it. I love the spicy kick and can see these working well in other recipes and not just as a hot dog.
I cooked the venison rack using the recipe with whipped anise myrtle butter from the website. It was beautiful. The tenderness of the venison was amazing. Because I was cooking just for two as a mid week meal I did take a short cut with the making of the butter. I didn't whip the butter but mixed the other ingredients into it and brushed the soft butter mix directly onto the hot rack instead of melting it in a pan. It worked really well. I'm a fan of native ingredients so I had finger limes in the freezer, anise myrtle powder and Warragul greens growing in the garden. The butter sauce works beautifully with the rack adding a richness to the lean venison.
I will be trying the other recipes from the website for the other racks I have in the freezer.
You just can’t get better value, 1.2 kg boned shoulder of venison under $25 dollars try doing the same with beef or lamb … you just can’t. High end restaurant quality meat for a fraction of supermarket prices , woolies and Cole’s don’t even stock these products and they are being undercut on traditional meats which are non specialty items !
