Very popular with the family

I have always purchased my meat from local butcher never really tried meats like wild boar, kangaroo and wild boar but I gave this a go and was amazed by the quality. This meat was absolutely delicious. The packaging and delviery was A-class as well. I will definately be continuing to buy more meat and try different options.

What excellent quality meat, extremely lean and coming frenched helped immensely in preparation. Matched with a Cumberland sauce.

We all love it. Meat arrived nice and cool/cold everytime. It is super lean, almost too lean so we actually need to add a bit of fat to cook (probably just our habit?). No nasty antibiotics, hormone and good for the environment as well. We won't go back to supermarket meats :)

Fattier cut of venison, quite suitable for charsiu as a pork alternative. This cut comes trussed for roasting so if taken apart, will be several pieces.

I can’t get enough of this Roo.So lean & tender without sinew.Fantastic protein for my training.

Coated in olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper and let it come to room temperature. Cooked this medium-rare on the barbecue, sliced and topped with the Red Wine Jus from the recipe section of the website; delicious!

Thornwood Wild Boar Bone-in Roast

I was exhausted after a long day so no fancy sides, just pretty rare venison. It was WOW.
I basted it with a bit of rosemary, garlic and butter. . Will be buying it again!
Overall Australian Meats has exceeded expectations, delivery was well explained, it arrived well packed with reusable/non toxic freezer bags.

I also HUGELY appreciate their transparency in where these animals are sourced, that they are wild, better for the environment, and that they are Australian owned. Let’s stop supporting the giants of Cole’s and Woolworths who are just scalping us and support local.
Oh AND, with my dad being coeliac the fact the products are gluten free is a huge plus too. 🙌

I made a simple bolognese pasta sauce and my friend who has been vego since childhood - now wanting to try and add meat back in had a bowl - It was a success! Not overpowering, blended in well, I actually found it to be less intense than beef mince in a good way.

Was perfect for a lazy night when I couldn’t be bothered thinking of seasonings.
I didn’t find the pepper to be overpowering at all as another reviewer mentioned. I ended up adding garlic and butter - Cooked rare it was great. Far better than the supermarket brand I’ve tried.

Delicious wild boar sausages, definitely will buy again and try the jalapeño boar sausages next.
Did not find them dry at all as another reviewer mentioned - you wouldn’t want to overcook them.
Everything from thornhill I’ve tried has exceeded expectations especially from the value point of view.
