Have purchased the goat sausages in the past and they were fine. HOWEVER in my latest order from Australian Meats I included 5 packs of goat sausages and the first lot I cooked told me something DRASTIC has changed since I last ordered them. The entire point of goat meat is that it is a very lean and healthy meat..... so when a HUGE amount of fat ran out of these "goat" sausages making them shrink to roughly half their original size and leaving me with a frying pan that I could use to deep fry chips I knew this would be the last order I place with Australian Meats. I personally could not give a toss about "sustainable meat" etc - I purchase game meats for one reason - they are SUPPOSED to be healthier and lower in calories than traditional fare. Point of fact, the packaging for the goat sausages state that the energy value for them is 452kj per 100g. Lol, that is lower than lean chicken sausages.... which do not leave a huge pool of oil in your pan - there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD these sausages are under 1000kj per 100g (I would guess more like 1200-1300 with as much pure fat that comes out of them). So if you want to pay top dollar for the equivalent to the cheapest, fattiest budget sausages that will ensure you require triple bypass surgery and/or liposuction then knock yourself out.... not this little black duck though. Will be giving the other 4 packs to my dog.
Love it, we recommend it to our family and friends and it tastes good, my kids also enjoy it very well and are looking forward to ordering again
