Thornwood Wild Boar Leg Ham

While the Thornwood Wild Boar Leg Ham was a great size and looked great, we felt it lacked sufficient flavour to order again. Maybe if it was smoked longer the flavour would improve it if I glazed and baked it as suggested. The venison ham that we also ordered , however, was excellent and we will be ordering that again.

Very tasty

Superbly flavoursome, baked with a spicy sticky mango glaze.
Then cold with leftovers, on sandwiches, fried with eggs, on bagels with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce... And maybe just one or two other variations?

Really, really worth it. For the very full flavour and richness, which also made it good value for money because it lasted so long.

I would highly recommend it. I'm thinking of doing it again at Easter.

This was the 2nd year my family enjoyed a delicious wild boar ham. Specifically requested by my brother in law who was a Chef. It is much leaner than regular ham, less salty and had a smoky nutty flavour. Definitely not a strong taste. All of my family loved it.
